Just out of curiosity what twrp are you using?
Will try to install it today since i use also oos 4.0.2 and will report back asap
I also installed the kernel before, I'm gonna edit my first post with informations on what I did. I'm trying with the latest OTA version, so actually the 4.0.2. Flash it before flashing the nethunter overlay
You have to download one of the following kernels depending if you are on MM or nougat. I mean version of OOS, not nethunter overlay.
I'm trying with the "nethunter-generic-armhf-kalifs-minimal-rolling-3.15.4-20170202-1604.zip"Īlso tried with the full version, instead of minimal but same result. It worked perfectly but since 3.2.2 i havent touched it again so not sure what rom is compatible atm You have to flash kernel and then the big file (generic nethunter.) Last time i installed it i was on OOS 3.2.2. However if you need any other information (log file. Hope you have some ideas of what I can try. Should I post an issue on the kali-nethunter github ? I tried many differents versions of TWRP and even different builds of Nethunter, I found nothing on the net, so what should I do ? Even if at the end it says "install completed - Success", it keep loading (with the nethunter loading screen) indefinitely. It is when I install the rom that I get the error message "Unpacking boot image failed".
I wanted to install the latest image of Nethunter (found on /nightly) but when I install it with TWRP I keep getting the message : "Unpacking boot image failed" in the log screen. Notes: make sure fastboot works in your extracted path, which is usually not a problem for Linux users, but if you are on Windows, the quickest way is grabbing the stand alone binaries from this page, extract it and move all the images there, this way you will have a working fastboot environment without Android Studio installation or Environment Variable setup.
Extract the archive file(aka the ROM) and flash all the images with fastboot:įastboot flash oppostanvbk static_nvbk.binįastboot flash userdata userdata_64G.img (or userdata.img if you have a 16GB model).Hold the volume up and the power button simultaneously for about three seconds to boot into fastboot mode.Make a full backup(include the internal storage, cause every partion will be erased in this case), and power off the phone.
The update-nethunter-generic-*.zip files are for updating your installation or if you wish to download the Kali rootfs inside the NetHunter app instead.įor the OnePlus One, you will need nethunter-generic-armhf-kalifs-full-rolling-.zip as the SnapDragon 801 SoC onboard has a 32 bit armhf architecture, not 64 bit like the SD 810 and later SoCs, and kernel-nethunter-oneplus1-marshmallow-.zip. For the Kali NetHunter image, as we have chosen the Cyanogen OS 13.1 as the base ROM, so the Lollipop image from Offensive Security may not work, so you will have to download the nightly images from Kali NetHunter Nightly, feel free to download the latest build.įor a fresh install, you will need a nethunter-generic-kalifs-*.zip as well as a kernel-nethunter-*.zip. To install Kali NetHunter on the OnePlus One, you should firstly have the factory ROM setup, which in my case is the Cyanogen OS 13.1, and a custom recovery installed, which is most likely the TWRP. It is also the “preferred” device by the Kali NetHunter developers. OnePlus One is a then flagship android phone with still keen community support. Kali NetHunter brings the goodies of a full-fledged Penetration Testing Distribution to an Android phone, which makes an ideal penetration testing device.
